So I have started a year long program to become a certified Health Coach and in my studies I have been fascinated by the apple! So along this journey I will be sharing some health ideas and tips.
Here’s some info on the beautiful apple ~ we will be offering fresh fruit at the Spa so whether you have a treatment scheduled or if you just want to stop by and pick up a healthy snack please come by and enjoy.
The Apple
Never underestimate the power of the apple, it’s the top pick for almost any illness. Apples are the perfect colon cleanser. If you’re faced with IBS or a viral infection an apple plays a critical nutritional role in calming your system by reducing viral and bacterial loads that create inflammation. It also helps improve circulation in your lymphatic system, repair skin damage and regulate blood sugar.
If you have any of the following, bring an apple into your life!
Kidney disease, arthritis, seizures, MS, diabetes, urinary tract infections, OCD, ADHD, PTSD, Lyme disease, small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO), anxiety, vertigo.
Apples are hydrating on a deep cellular level, they provide trace minerals such as manganese and molybdenum as well as electrolytes and critical mineral salts that help the body rehydrate after exercise or stress of any kind.
Try eating 3 apples a day ~ if you commit to this routine you will see your health improve in unexpected ways.
For a perfect snack, try apple slices and some caramel dipping sauce. I’ve included a recipe for vegan caramel sauce below, enjoy!

Vegan Caramel Sauce
This vegan caramel sauce is great for dipping or as a topping on your favorite desserts!
Ingredients
- 1 cup Coconut Cream
- 3/4 cup Brown Sugar
- 1 Tbsp Cornstarch
Add 1 cup of coconut cream, 3/4 cup brown sugar and 1 tablespoon cornstarch to a small pot or pan.
Heat over medium-high heat, stirring constantly, until the coconut cream melts. Bring to a boil. It will get bubbly and almost foamy. Lower heat to a simmer, and stir frequently for about 5 minutes. Remove from heat.
Enjoy!
