Spa Etiquette
Attending a Spa, while relaxing, can be a little confusing your first time. Our job is to help facilitate a stress-free, judgment-free relaxing retreat. While this guide may not cover all the questions you may have, our staff is more than happy to answer any of those remaining questions you may have.
When should I arrive for my reservation?
It is best to try and be at the Spa approximately 15 minutes prior to your appointment time.
What if I have special health considerations?
Please notify our Front Desk at the time of completing your ‘Spa Profile Card’. High blood pressure, heart condition, recent surgeries or injuries, undergoing cancer treatment/or currently have cancer, diabetes, allergies, medications or pregnancy are of special priority. It may be advisable to consult with your doctor prior to making your reservation.
What about my jewelry and valuables?
If possible please do not bring to the spa. We apologize but we will not be responsible for any loss.
What do I wear during my treatment?
Most body treatments are enjoyed without clothing. However, please wear what is comfortable for you. Disposable clothing is available upon request.
Should men shave before a facial?
Shaving is not necessary but it is recommended. If you do choose to shave prior to your facial, be sure to do so at least two hours prior to your scheduled appointment.
Is a Spa Lunch available?
We do not have a restaurant at the Spa but we will be happy to order for you from outside. Please notify the Front Desk at time of making reservations if you would like to do this.
What is the Cancellation Policy?
The Spa Central Coast offers a generous 24 hour cancellation policy. Treatments cancelled within 24 hours will be charged the full service fee. Group cancellation policy is 5 days. Should you wish to cancel your group reservation, please notify us 5 days prior to your reservation time to avoid paying the full service fee.
Late for your appointment?
If you are arriving late for a service, your treatment will end at the scheduled time so that the next guest will not be delayed. The value of your full service will be applied.
What about payment for spa services?
We accept all major credit cards, traveler’s checks, *Spa Finder Gift Cards, **The Spa Central Coast Gift Cards, and cash.
What about gratuities?
If you enjoyed your service, each Therapist at The Spa Central Coast is very grateful for any gratuity. However, a good rule of thumb is 20% of the entire service dollar.
We welcome any and all questions you may have regarding etiquette at The Spa Central Coast and sincerely look forward to your visit with us.

**The Spa Central Coast Gift Cards are treated like cash, while we do keep a record of them we are not responsible if they are lost
